  1. Hi Sharon!!

Wow, you are already on Day 12. That is amazing! Like you, I also really like to watch cooking shows on TV. My grandma used to watch them all of the time and I learned to enjoy them from watching them with her. She would often listen to the programme, write down the recipe and then give it a try. My sister, Leigh, and I would often have to be her 'guinea pigs' and have to try out her new recipes.

Most of them were delicious but I do remember her making a recipe with liver and other organs and it was awful. I took one bite and then I had to run into the kitchen to spit it out. Yuck! Have you ever tried a really unusual food or a really unusual recipe?

I'd love to hear about your experience :)

Wishing you a great week and a wonderful start to 2017. I wonder what a whole new year will bring...

Hopefully it will be filled with lots of cool new cooking shows! Do you have a favourite one, by the way? My son, Aronui, loves to watch Masterchef Australia. That is his current favourite!

    Cheers, Rachel :)

  2. Hi Sharon,

How wonderful that you like to learn about new foods! That's a great attitude to have - I'm glad that you're willing to experiment and try new things. When I come to New Zealand to visit Rachel and her family I enjoy having a chance to taste fruits and foods that we don't usually have in the stores in our small town of Almonte. And even though we do have some of the same fruits such as Kiwi fruit available here, I find that the Kiwi fruit in New Zealand tastes quite different. It perhaps has to do with the soil in which your fruit is grown...

What are your favourite types of food? And what is your favourite family recipe? We just had our traditional Christmas dinner and, I must admit, one of my favourite Christmas foods is the stuffing we have with the turkey. Yum!

I hope you're enjoying your holiday time!
